ABOUT THE RUN

Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Tau Omega are so excited to bring Powercat Paint Run to it's 3rd year! This run originated in 2013 and has grown immensely. Powercat Paint Run is a color run which supports Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) as well as the Manhattan High School Interpersonal Skills Program (IPS).

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Alpha Delta Pi's national philanthropy is Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC supports families with children needing medical care, who live too far away from a hospital or can't afford to stay at a hotel. These families can stay at a Ronald McDonald House free of charge. K-State ADPi works with Ronald McDonald houses in Topeka, Wichita, as well as Kansas City and do fun activities such as cook meals, have movie nights and decorate cookies.

MHS IPS PROGRAM

The Interpersonal Skills class of Manhattan High School provides selected members of the student body  with an extraordinary experience of becoming a student mentor to members of the student body who have developmental disabilities. Mentors and mentees take part in various activities together such as hosting bake sales that benefit the Manhattan Emergency, attending school events, traveling the state for various field trips, and even hosting a talent show for the Manhattan community titled, "America's Got Special Talent". The underlying message mentors and mentees discover through out the duration of the class is that everyone is special in their own way. How, though someone may look, act or talk differently than ourselves, we are still the same no matter the challenges presented. The IPS class of 2014 is pictured below with signs cheering the Powercat Paint Run runners.
